USA HOCKEY HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
DIVISION I & II

March 18-22 - Plymouth, MinnesotA

Prior to 2025 teams were divided into two divisions. Division I (pure) and Division II (combined). All players on Division I teams attend the same school. Players on Division II teams attend multiple schools.

Starting in 2025 teams were placed in 3A, 2A and 1A divisons, 3A being the strongest division. A Placement Committee seeks to achieve balance and parity within each division. Teams placed in a specific division (3A, 2A and 1A) may not be exclusively pure or combined teams.

The 3A division will include teams that are considered Prep Schools or Academies, teams from states that have demonstrated a high level of competitive play at prior High School National Championships, and/or teams that have demonstrated a high level of competitive play during the current season.

Divisons 1A and 2A each have 16 teams, divided into four groups with four teams in each group. Teams play three round-robin games within its group. The top two teams in each group after pool play advance to the quarterfinals.
